Born in Los Angeles, Kathy Levin Gallagher lived here her entire life. She graduated from the Brentwood School where she was active in school theater. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in History/English. Following her father’s dream for her to be a lawyer (not an actress), she earned her law degree from Loyola Law School. After working at a prominent Los Angeles law firm, she co-founded an environmental law firm, Gallagher & Gallagher, in Century City.
After Kathy’s son Brendan (now age 22 and a recent Stanford University graduate) was born, she continued her career for a short time, but found that being a mom was the most fulfilling and important role of her life. She was a volunteer for many years in a range of school-related activities at John Thomas Dye and Harvard-Westlake School. In between carpool and her school volunteer work, she remodeled and built several homes.
Kathy also became involved with Lupus LA about eleven years ago when her ex-husband was diagnosed with lupus. She has served as a highly active Lupus LA board member for the past ten years and participated in the planning committees for each of Lupus LA’s fundraising events. Kathy was also a member of the Director’s Circle at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art from 2014-2016.
Kathy lives in Brentwood with her fiancé Greg Scott. Her interests away from her family and her board work include cooking, entertaining, traveling, and hiking.
