  • Women of Color Breast Cancer Survivors’ Support Project

Women of Color Breast Cancer Survivors’ Support Project (WOC) was created to help survivors navigate the world of recovery and develop self-care plans to aid in their survivorship. Our mission is to support breast cancer survivors, offer crisis intervention in the healing process, educate women and families on breast health, and actively participate in effective change as it relates to health and racial disparities.

TCRF Community Grant is funding the Say AMEN program, which is a web-based training designed to help build the capacity of pastors, faith-leadership teams, and community organizers to create culturally-relevant mental health networks and ministries, that support the mental health needs of breast cancer survivors and women at risk for breast cancer.

  • Project Angel Food

Project Angel Food serves over 3,700 critically ill, food-insecure L.A. County residents each year with home-delivered medically tailored meals and nutrition services. Our program alleviates malnourishment and food-related stress for people diagnosed with cancer, HIV/AIDS, kidney failure, and other serious illnesses. Malnourishment can have devastating effects on people with serious diseases, and the National Cancer Institute has found that it can account for 10% to 20% of mortality in patients with cancer.

The TCRF Community Partner Grant provides funding to deliver life-sustaining nourishment that fortifies clients as they battle their illnesses. The healthy meal preparation and delivery program helps to improve energy levels and mood and prevent malnutrition and starvation.
