It has been my distinct honor to lead Tower Cancer Research Foundation (TCRF) over the last nine years. Since day one, I have been inspired by the steadfast commitment and overwhelming generosity of the TCRF community. I am so proud of the work we have accomplished. Together, we have funded 38 researchers, paving the way for new and better treatments, and a future free from the devastating burden of cancer.
It is with a grateful heart that I introduce to you the new Executive Director who will lead the Foundation into the next chapter. The transition process has already begun, and I am confident and hopeful for this next phase of TCRF’s future. With a new voice will come fresh insights and renewed energy to move the Foundation’s mission forward.
I am thankful to have been afforded an active role in the search process for the Foundation’s next leader in collaboration with the members of the Board of Directors Search Committee, Dr. Solomon Hamburg, Nancy Rosenfelt, and Jonathan Layne. The committee will continue to oversee the transition and are committed to ensuring seamless integration.
While my chapter as Executive Director is ending, I remain passionate and committed to the organization’s mission and will be available as a continued resource for the Foundation for as long as I’m needed. I will always cherish my time at TCRF. The lifelong relationships I’ve built with the members of the Board of Directors, Magnolia Council, Cancer Free Generation, and TCRF staff will continue to be meaningful in my life.
If COVID-19 taught us anything it’s that life is short. My next chapter will look like more time with family, loved ones, and my COVID baby, Tulip, a Holsteiner mare, who over the pandemic has re-ignited my passion for equestrian endeavors.
I am so excited to pass the baton to someone as qualified, passionate, and dedicated as Steven Abramson. Steven’s long track record of leading nonprofit healthcare organizations has him uniquely poised to carry the Foundation into the future.
In the coming weeks, Steven will have the opportunity to introduce himself to all our wonderful supporters and he looks forward to meeting our committed community.
I am filled with gratitude for all your support over the years and am honored to have had the opportunity to serve this community. I am beyond proud of the work TCRF has done to advance cancer research and make a difference in the lives of so many cancer patients and survivors in Southern California and beyond.
With all my gratitude,
Linda David
Executive Director
