Dr. Carpten currently serves as Director, Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Director, Beckman Research Institute, at City of Hope. He received his PhD in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the Ohio State University. Prior to his current appointment at USC, he served as Professor and Deputy Director of Basic Sciences at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Carpten’s expertise spans a very broad range of research disciplines including germline genetics, tumor profiling, cancer cell biology, functional genomics, and health disparities.
