This grant from TCRF will support Bet Tzedek and the expansion of the focus of its highly successful Right to Health Project to create a medical legal partnership that is specifically tailored to the cancer community at St. Vincent Cancer Center and St. Francis Medical Center. “Medical legal partnerships” combat obstacles to care by integrating medical and legal services in a collaborative, patient-centered approach. Under this model, attorneys come directly to the healthcare setting and work alongside social workers, patient navigators, nurses, and doctors to identify and address the systemic barriers interfering with patients’ access to care and treatment.
