A grant from the Jessica Berman Memorial Fund att TCRF will fund a new cohort of (50) UCLA physicians and staff focused on and in direct contact with cancer patients in the Urban Zen Integrative Therapy Program (UZIT). The program offers a unique Eastern healing process designed to—as Donna Karan has put it—bring care back into healthcare. The therapies are specifically designed to address the primary symptoms of pain, anxiety, nausea, insomnia, constipation, and exhaustion. Rather than employ a handful of integrative medicine professionals, the Urban Zen model provides training for a wide variety of physicians, nurses, and other caregivers from departments throughout UCLA Health to integrate alternative therapies into their daily practice with patients.
