Walk with Sally
The funding provided by the Tower Cancer Research Foundation will allow Walk With Sally to access and support LA County’s Hispanic population, serving children between the ages of 7 to 17 who have a parent or sibling living with or who has passed away from cancer. Walk With Sally has hired a Spanish-speaking Coordinator to enroll families and children in the organization’s Mentoring Program. According to data provided by the National Mentoring Coalition, mentees who remain in the program for at least one year will show an increase the in self-esteem, an increase their chances of going to college and reduce the risk of getting involved with drugs, alcohol, gang activity.
