On October 12th, The Magnolia Council presented Tower Cancer Research Foundation’s Annual Spirit of Hope Lunch-In honoring two amazing women from the Tower community who provide HOPE to so many through the great work they do. Cancer survivors, philanthropists and community advocates, this mother-daughter duo, Jeanne Schnitzer Marks and Samantha Paige Davis, recognized leaders in our community, received Tower’s 2020 Spirit of Hope awards.
Tower’s virtual Spirit of Hope Lunch- In raised over $350,000 which will fund the Magnolia Council Senior Investigator Grant. The recipient of this year’s grant is Lili Yang, PhD, Associate Professor of Immunotherpay at UCLA. Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapies have revolutionized the treatment of many cancers; however, the existing ICB therapies can only benefit a small fraction of cancer patients.
