Summary/Abstract:
Increasing moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) has been associated with many health benefits and improved quality of life in breast cancer survivors. However, many breast cancer survivors find it difficult to become active on their own and may not have access to physical activity programs. The purpose of the 12-month Fit2ThriveMIND research study is to test how four different strategies effect MVPA, symptoms, other activities and sleep in post-treatment breast cancer survivors using the Fit2ThriveMIND smartphone application (“app”).
What does participation involve?
The study is fully remote and requires no in-person visits or appointments.
Assessments
- 45-min online survey at baseline, 3, 6, and 12 months
- Wear activity monitor 24/7 for 7 days at baseline, 6 and 12 months
- 15-minute survey at 3 weeks
- You will be compensated a maximum of $170 for assessment completion
Physical Activity Program
- All participants receive Fitbit, Fit2ThriveMIND app, exercise prescription, 15-min orientation call
- Track physical activity with Fitbit and use Fit2ThriveMIND app daily
You may receive 0-4 additional Fit2ThriveMIND features focused on mindfulness and/or social support.
