A grant from TCRF will support Olive View-UCLA Education and Research Institute as they expand their navigation programs to other LAC/DHS sites, specifically Martin Luther King, Jr (MLK) Medical Center in South Los Angeles. Currently, there is no formal system to assist patients with this complex process or provide basic navigation services on-site, and support resources are scarce. The new navigation program at MLK, will positively impact patient knowledge, treatment compliance, follow-up surveillance, and access to support resources for this underserved patient population. This will help reduce disparities in receipt of treatment and translate into improved cancer outcomes.
