LOS ANGELES (October 20, 2026) — Tower Cancer Research Foundation (Tower), a          Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to advancing groundbreaking cancer research and providing support for people affected by cancer, has partnered with dnj Gallery for “In Strength,” a group show by artists connected to breast cancer. Presented by Pamela Schoenberg, owner/director of dnj Gallery, and Ted Meyer, founder of Art and Med, the 10-week exhibition brings art and advocacy together to illuminate the realities of breast cancer, honor the strength and individuality of those affected, and encourage meaningful conversations about women’s health, healing and the continuing need for research and support.

dnj Gallery is a contemporary art space in Santa Monica, California, showcasing innovative photography and visual art from emerging and established artists. In 2024, Schoenberg recognized the need for community among people living with long-term illness. She presents art by individuals living with chronic illness to tell their stories, foster community, and create safe, supportive spaces for those who are chronically ill.

As a presenting partner, Tower’s participation underscores the importance of funding early-stage cancer research that conventional systems overlook, backing the scientists and ideas most likely to drive the next generation of breakthroughs, as well as supporting and standing alongside patients in real time. On November 15 at 2 pm, Tower will host a panel discussion with Meyer and Dr. Evanthia Roussos Torres, a breast oncologist, physician-scientist, and member of Tower’s Scientific Advisory Board.

The panel will bring together artists and medical professionals to explore how art can offer a deeper understanding of the patient experience. Artists will share how their personal experiences with illness and medical care are reflected in their work, while healthcare professionals will discuss what these perspectives can teach them about the needs of patients and how those insights can inform their approach to care.

Early in her career, Dr. Roussos Torres received early-stage grant funding from Tower, which aided in the advancement of her breast cancer research, underscoring the Foundation’s commitment to supporting high-risk, high-reward science. Meyer is also the artist-in-residence at the USC Keck School of Medicine.

“At Tower, we’re always looking for new ways to expand how we support people affected by cancer,” said Matt Zarcufsky, executive director and chief philanthropy officer of Tower Cancer Research Foundation. “This partnership uses art to create connection, build awareness, and open another avenue for patients, survivors, and families to feel supported and understood, so we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”
